# What is an NFT?

An NFT is a [non-fungible token](https://ethereum.org/en/nft/). A digital item secured by cryptography on the blockchain. In essence they allow us to prove ownership and provenance of digital items. Our NFTs are minted on the [Ethereum](https://ethereum.org/en/) blockchain.
